Ours is an active and vibrant diocese marked by missionary enthusiasm. Following the inspiring and relentless pioneering work of Capuchin missionaries of Tibet-Hindustan Mission, this tiny diocese is labouring for the spread of the faith and the progress of the Catholic Church in the virgin and uncharted territories of the Himalayan Mountains.

Out of a total population of 8898990, we are today a small drop of 6000 Catholics scattered all over in 9 civil districts proclaiming and living the Good News.
